Treadly 3.0: Meet Your Coach

Treadly is now a running coach for real life — training plans that adapt to your body, your week, and your weather. Here's what changed, what it costs, and what stays free.

Two years ago, Treadly started as an answer to a small, stubborn problem: nobody could tell you when your running shoes were actually worn out. We built the best shoe-lifecycle tracker we could, and runners used it to retire hundreds of pairs at the right mile, not the guessed one.

But somewhere along the way, the questions you asked us changed. Not "how many miles are on my Pegasus?" — you had that answered. The questions became: What should I run today? Is this plan too much this week? I slept terribly — should I still do intervals?

Those are coaching questions. So we built a coach.

What Treadly is now

Treadly 3.0 is a running coach for real life. You tell it your goal — a first 5K, a marathon PR, or just running consistently — and it builds a real training plan around your life. Then it does the thing static plans can't: it adapts.

  • It adapts to your body. Every morning, Treadly reads your recovery signals — heart-rate variability, sleep, resting heart rate — and shapes today's run to match. Rough night? Your tempo run gets easier before you even lace up. That's not a badge on a dashboard; it's the actual workout changing.
  • It adapts to your week. Life happens. Runs move, get skipped, get rearranged. Your plan reflows instead of guilt-tripping you back onto a schedule that stopped being real on Tuesday.
  • It adapts to your world. Treadly checks the hourly forecast and finds your best run window. Heat adjusts your pace targets. When there's no good outdoor window at all, it calls the treadmill audible for you.
Behind all of this is Coach Brain — the training engine we've been building all year. Its rules come from published sports science, vetted and cited, not vibes. When Treadly tells you why this week is a step-back week, there's a reason underneath you can actually read.

And it goes where you run: one tap sends today's workout to Apple Watch with live pace guidance, and finished runs can post straight to Strava.

What happens to the shoe tracker

Nothing bad — it's still here, still excellent, and now it has context. Gear is a first-class tab in the new app. The difference is your shoes now live inside your training: rotation by workout role, wear forecasts that know your actual weekly mileage, and replacement timing based on how you train.

If you came to Treadly for shoes, everything you use keeps working. You just got a coach in the same app.

What it costs (and what stays free)

Treadly Pro is $4.99/month or $39.99/year, and every new runner gets a 7-day full-featured trial — build a plan in your first minute, run a whole week with the coach, then decide. For comparison, the big coaching apps run about $19.99/month. We think adaptive coaching shouldn't be a luxury line item.

Free stays generous, on purpose: shoe tracking — every pair, no cap — share cards, and Strava posting are free for everyone.

And to our earliest Pro subscribers: your original price is yours forever. You believed in a shoe tracker; you get the coach at the price you signed up at.
